As part of the anniversary gala “20 Years of Brandenburg Hospitality”, the “Hosts of the Year 2024” were honored in Potsdam in October 2025.
The The Lakeside Burghotel zu Strausberg with the Restaurant Royal was named overall winner of the Oder-Spree Lake District and Brandenburg by the Brandenburg Hotel and Restaurant Association.
This means that the four-star superior hotel with upscale gastronomy under the management of Marcell Kästner can now adorn itself with two black and gold plaques. The basis for this decision was not only a mystery check, in which trained test persons assessed the offer, service and quality of the establishment according to previously defined criteria, but also the digital reputation and online presence of the hotel.
