Exhibition with works by Werner Voigt

exhibition
Based on the Glubigsee, the painter and graphic artist creates a multifaceted oeuvre, often finding attractive motifs in the immediate vicinity. We show paintings, graphics and clay sculptures from a busy artistic life connected to the region.

As a young man, the Zwickau native went through a tough school: military service, being a prisoner of war, working as a coal miner. At the age of 25, Werner Voigt discovered art, studied painting under Erich Fraaß and Rudolf Bergander at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, and became a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR in 1960. His path led him to Frankfurt (Oder), where he ran a painting and drawing circle in the semiconductor plant together with the sculptor Walter Kreisel (*1929). The freelance painter and graphic artist, who has lived in Wendisch Rietz since 1983, was committed to art education throughout his life.
