Anyone who knows Wilfried Klapprott and his wife Ingrid immediately understands why the forester, painter, and wood sculptor chose this line from a Reinhard Mey song as the title of his exhibition. It couldn't describe more aptly what binds Wilfried and Ingrid together after nearly six decades of marriage. "Your happiness is mine, my fate is yours..."—their bond is their very lifeblood. They live on their estate in Waldsieversdorf, which exudes a wonderful harmony of art and nature. When he's not working with wood, Wilfried Klapprott can be found in his painting studio, where his paintings radiate warmth and inner fire.
For the Buckow exhibition, the artist intends to focus not only on landscapes but also, and perhaps more importantly, on the human face and the interconnectedness that has become so precious to him in this day and age. He wants to convey a further expression of "We are one," extending beyond partnership and family. We are one in this world. What happens to you happens to me. We are one.
