Exhibition opening: Ehrhard Thoms – of animals and humans

The sculptor, painter and draftsman, who lives in Marxdorf (Märkisch-Oderland district), has long recommended himself through plein air painting and works in public spaces.
As someone born in Spreenhagen, the artist often speaks of an area that was once home to Berlin's oldest landfill – even though this very place has become a source of inspiration for him. Ehrhard Thoms aims to revive the stone, wood, and metal that the soil there holds – subtly and with a light touch. This "unfinished" beauty lends his sculptures, stone and wood carvings, drawings, prints, and collages a distinctive character.
