The popular singer-songwriter Gerhard Schöne, the saxophonist Ralf Benschu, known for his interludes with Keimzeit, the church music director and organist Jens Goldhardt combine different musical styles to create an exceptionally compelling concert experience.
Their program, "I Open the Door Wide in the Evening," brings the audience closer to well-known, new, and rarely performed songs by Schöne, compellingly translates his reworked chorales into the present day, and leaves space for organ pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach. Secular and sacred music harmonize powerfully and emotionally in a way rarely experienced before.
