Bal Folk is an ideal introduction to the world of dance: a mixture of fun, music, joy of movement and conviviality.

The Bal Folk movement originated in France, but is also very popular in the rest of Europe and across all generations. Many dances can be danced straight away without any previous knowledge, and finding a dance partner is also easy without any major formalities. In some dances, partners are changed every few bars anyway. In this way, you get to know almost everyone else present over the course of a dance evening.

In the course at KUMA, we dance to recorded music. The dances are taught in a relaxed manner and deepened until all participants can enjoy participating. Those who come should bring extra shoes for dancing.

The course is led by Thomas Strauch. Suggestions and tips are always welcome. Admission is free, and there is a hat for donations to cover expenses.
