Figuracja – Polish sculpture at Seitz
**Artistic positions from the Orońsko Collection and works by Gustav Seitz**
**In cooperation with the** [**Center for Polish Sculpture Orońsko**](https://rzezba-oronsko.pl/)** **
**March 22 – September 6, 2026**
With selected works from the collection of the Centre for Polish Sculpture Oronsko (Centrum Rzezby Polskiej w Oronsku), the Gustav Seitz Museum offers a unique insight into the inspiring diversity of figurative sculpture by Polish artists.
The sculptures, created between the late 1940s and the 2000s, point on the one hand to the shared roots in French sculpture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries—roots also visible in the work of Seitz. On the other hand, these works, some of which are being exhibited in Germany for the first time, testify to the powerfully developing dynamism and individuality of figurative sculpture in Poland. In their spatial coexistence with, and in some instances directly corresponding to, sculptures and drawings by Gustav Seitz, the human being is once again at the center of artistic expression.
Both institutions, the Center for Polish Sculpture in Oronsko and the Gustav Seitz Museum, understand figuration as a broad, timeless, and inexhaustible source of inspiration for sculpture. It continues to find diverse expression in the work of artists today.
The exhibition is embedded in the anniversary year marking the 35th anniversary of the German-Polish Good Neighbourhood Treaty, the German-Polish Youth Office, the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation and the Berlin-Warsaw city partnership.
**Opening**
Sunday, March 22, 2026, 15:XNUMX p.m.
Darius Müller (Gustav Seitz Foundation),
Paulina Kurc-Maj and Dr. Jaroslaw Pajek (Center for Polish Sculpture Orońsko)
Musical accompaniment: Dominik Górny (piano)
