After studying at the Berlin University of the Arts, photographer Hartwig Klappert worked as an art director in an advertising agency and then became self-employed as a photographer.
The focus of his work was on large-format calendars for clients, including a construction company in Saudi Arabia, a pharmaceutical group, a fashion company, the Berlin calendar for the Berlin city cleaning service, calendars for the Berlin Zoo and for industrial companies, and for over 15 years for a printing ink manufacturer.
On display are some examples of these calendars, which have won many international awards.
During his time as a professor at the Braunschweig Art Academy, Hartwig Klappert returned to landscape photography and after buying a house in Neubrück, he increasingly engaged with his surroundings through photography, with a focus on forest edges and forest islands, which are shown alongside other landscape pictures.
