Historical tour - Experience industrial history

  • guided tour / tour

Spanning 17 hectares, the museum park offers a wealth of discoveries – at every turn, you'll find relics of a bygone industrial history that began here in Rüdersdorf over 750 years ago. While rocks from approximately 245 million years of Earth's history are still being extracted in the active open-cast mine next door, our guided tours offer you the chance to experience geological and mining history firsthand. Embark on a journey through time.

The tours are led by expert guides who will provide you with fascinating historical insights and answer any questions you may have. Experience history firsthand, surrounded by water, with spectacular photo opportunities, manicured forests and parks, and interestingly curated exhibition spaces.

On foot, you'll pass through and past numerous historic buildings and facilities used to transport or process limestone from the adjacent open-cast mine. Our technical structures, built according to designs by famous architects such as Schinkel, form a unique architectural ensemble. It is one of Germany's most important industrial monuments. Sturdy footwear is recommended. You should be a good walker.

Minimum number of participants: 15 people
