Open Monument Day: "NETWORKS - Monuments and Infrastructure"
The 2026 motto "NETWORKS - Monuments and Infrastructure" also states: We are all supported by networks: Whether in our families, circles of friends, clubs, churches or professionally - we never exist alone, but live in connection with others who form our personal network.
Networks need infrastructure – otherwise they wouldn't be connected. Nodes and their connections form this infrastructure. Built in stone, concrete, or metal, this infrastructure has been created and grown by people – that's what makes it a monument.
