Theatre ship "MS Goldberg"

A week of culture by the water with music, literature and cinema

When the MS Goldberg docks at the Bollwerk, the harbor transforms into a floating cultural stage for a few days. From September 9th to 13th , the cultural ship returns to Eisenhüttenstadt, inviting visitors to a diverse week of music, literature, and film.

With its mix of concerts, readings, and film screenings, the MS Goldberg has established itself as a fixture in the city's cultural calendar in recent years. The unique atmosphere on board and the diverse programs delight numerous visitors from Eisenhüttenstadt and the surrounding region every year.

The MS Goldberg is far more than just a venue. As a floating cultural stage, it brings concerts, readings, theater, and film to extraordinary locations along Germany's waterways. The program combines top-class music, captivating stories, and unique cinematic experiences with the unparalleled backdrop of the water.

The festival opens on Wednesday, September 9th, with the musical tribute "Love Is Here To Stay," which tells the story of the lives and work of brothers George and Ira Gershwin. This is followed by a musical and literary evening about the lyricist Bruno Balz, modern jazz, soul, and funk with the Jako Trio , and the moving narrative "Water, Waves, Resistance" about courage and solidarity during the Nazi era.

To conclude the week on Sunday, there are two film screenings on the program: The family cinema will show "War of the Buttons" , before Billy Wilder's cult comedy "One, Two, Three" brings the event week to a close in the evening.

All evening events begin at 19 pm , the family film on Sunday at 15 pm . Admission is €10 . Children up to 14 years of age have free admission when accompanied by an adult.
