Germanic longhouse

Gastronomy
Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Oder-Spree region, near the town of Beeskow, surrounded by the oldest oak trees in Brandenburg, behind high wooden palisades there is a very special kind of inn, the Germanic Longhouse.
From 1994 to 1997, landlord Roland built this house himself, stone by stone, according to his own ideas, until the pub was finally opened on a summer evening in August '97, as part of a big celebration.
Since then, you have had the opportunity to enjoy the most delicious dishes from the twig oven at long oak tables, after being traditionally greeted by our maids with a strong sip of mead from the cow horn.
Tradition is very important to us and so you should not be surprised if, after home-baked bread and lard, you are given a little soup but cannot find a spoon: we still slurp the soup in a traditional way.
