Volunteers from the Schöneicher Nature Conservation Association run the popular summer café. The café will open on the first Sunday of July, August and September 2024 in the popular park and natural playground at the Berliner Strasse entrance.
Coffee, tea and homemade lemonades will be sold from the old ticket booth of the old outdoor swimming pool. A large selection of cakes and tarts, including a vegan and a gluten-free variety, will be available under the large roof. Cakes will also be sold "to take away" in case of rain and in containers that you bring with you.
All cakes are freshly prepared by volunteers and donated to the Nature Conservation Association. The proceeds are used for the association's nature conservation work.
The duo "Lovely Soul" will be playing for entertainment, consisting of the married couple Gerwin (vocals/guitar) and Ulli Kästner (bass). The two Schöneichers cover favorite songs from the past 100 years. Many pieces in their repertoire, which ranges from jazz to blues to soul, are classics: their rich collection of timeless evergreens includes pieces by Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, Bill Withers, Eric Clapton, Neil Young and many, many other artists.
