Located approximately 30 kilometers east of Berlin-Mitte, the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin is primarily known for its limestone deposits, unique in northern Germany. The open-cast mine is still active today, and the cement factory exports Rüdersdorf cement throughout Europe. The Rüdersdorf Museum Park is the only open-air museum in the world to feature such a diverse array of historic limestone and mining sites, along with their associated processing and transport facilities. The Museum Park parking lot, located directly on the edge of the open-cast mine, offers five free parking spaces for camper vans, complete with utility and waste disposal facilities. A power outlet with two electrical connections is available for a fee. The public parking lot is open 5 hours a day. Greywater and chemical toilet disposal facilities are available.
