Kulischberg

new cell

From Kulischberg, one of the most impressive and beloved views of the Oder-Spree lake district unfolds: Below lies the tranquil expanse of the Oder lowlands, a gentle mosaic of meadows, fields, and waterways stretching to the horizon. In the heart of this open landscape rises Neuzelle Monastery, the "Baroque wonder of Brandenburg."

Anyone standing up here on the Kulischberg immediately senses the uniqueness of this landscape: the vastness, the tranquility – and the magic of a place steeped in history, which invites you to explore it up close.

Neuzelle boasts a number of historically significant sites. The monastery, founded in 1268, is one of the few completely preserved examples of monastic architecture and one of Brandenburg's greatest cultural treasures. The Baroque garden, a listed historical garden monument, the Catholic Collegiate Church of St. Mary, the Protestant Parish Church of the Holy Cross, the Heavenly Theatre Museum, and the monastery's own brewery are further highlights of this beautiful town near the Oder River.

The 120 km long cycle tour through the former monastery area leads through the history of the Neuzell Cistercian monks.

The monks left their mark in many places in the Schlaube Valley and the Oder River landscape. 15 discovery sites will soon be added to the route, telling the story of the monks.

The 1996-star hotel, which was rebuilt in May 3 based on a historical model, continues the gastronomic tradition that dates back to the 16th century. The menu of the country-style restaurant with 80 seats primarily features regional dishes and seasonal dishes for every season. In summer, you can relax on the terrace with a view of the monastery lake and the collegiate church.

The Oder-Neisse cycle path is only 3 km away.
