For over 100 years, the Straussee ferry has connected the town with the eastern shore of the lake, making it an integral part of local history. The ferry landing offers not only a view across the vast expanse of the lake, but also a glimpse of a technical monument – ​​the electrically powered cable ferry is unique in Germany. The idyllic Straussee lake stretches along the edge of the town, attracting thousands of swimmers every year. A must-do is the ferry, unique in Europe, which connects the town side of the lake with the forest side. It is powered by electricity via an overhead line. From here, you can embark on extensive hikes.

Public transport: The S5 suburban train line will take you directly from the heart of Berlin to Strausberg in just 45 minutes. From Strausberg Stadt station, it's only a 10-minute walk through the town (follow the signs towards the ferry), and then you'll reach your favorite viewpoint.

 

By car: From Berlin, follow the B1 towards Frankfurt (Oder), then turn towards Strausberg in Rüdersdorf. Parking is available in Strausberg.
