Beyond the Lake

Strausberg

The favorite viewpoint is located on the western side of Lake Straussee, a place that has always been called "Beyond the Lake." The hilltop was already a popular destination for walks in the 19th century and still offers a sweeping panoramic view across the lake to the old town of Strausberg. A small shelter provides a place to rest.

A worthwhile detour for anyone who wants to combine water and the old town skyline. A ferry ride across the Straussee even allows you to combine this favorite view with the favorite view at the ferry landing!

The over 780-year-old town of Strausberg, just outside Berlin, invites you to experience nature with its extensive mixed forests and clear waters. Whether hiking or cycling, with 3.150 hectares of forest and 300 hectares of water, it offers ideal conditions for active recreation. Enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the city, discover the charming old town and be inspired by the special cultural highlights.
