Where the Schlaube River begins its journey, an extraordinary view opens up at Lake Wirchensee, encompassing water and forest. The Försterblick viewpoint rises above the lake, revealing the surrounding landscape in gentle expanse. Here, vastness and tranquility, light and landscape meet with exceptional clarity. White-tailed eagles, cranes, and deer are frequently part of this natural panorama. A serene place that reveals the pristine character of the Schlaube Valley.

Neuzelle boasts a number of historically significant sites. The monastery was founded in 1268 and is today one of the few completely preserved examples of monastic architecture and one of Brandenburg's greatest cultural treasures.

The Baroque garden, a historical garden monument, the Catholic Collegiate Church of St. Mary and the Protestant Parish Church of the Holy Cross as well as the Museum of Heavenly Theater and the monastery's own brewery are further highlights of this beautiful place not far from the Oder.

The 4,5 km circular trail around Lake Wirchensee leads through a captivating forest landscape that transforms with the seasons: In spring, the vibrant hues of green are a delight, while in autumn, the colorful leaves rustle and fill the ground. On the eastern shore, numerous small steps lead up to the "Forester's View," which offers a fantastic panorama of the lake. With a bit of luck, you might spot white-tailed eagles or ospreys soaring overhead. In autumn, during the rutting season, the bellowing of stags echoes through the dense forest.

Nestled in the heart of the Schlaubetal Nature Park, on a peninsula between Wirchensee and Stubbenloch, lies the restaurant at the Waldseehotel am Wirchensee. The idyllic surroundings invite you to enjoy walks and bike rides, while the hotel's private bathing jetty offers a refreshing dip in the lake's clear waters.

The restaurant's cuisine focuses on regional and seasonal specialties. The chef creates dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. On sunny days, the terrace offers a direct view of Lake Wirchensee.
