Beeskow
Old Town charm directly on the Spree
Beeskow is not as bad as it sounds...Theodor Fontane
The historic town center, surrounded by the almost completely preserved city wall, is what makes Beeskow so special and invites visitors to explore its exciting history. The Spree, which meanders through the old town, is what makes this town, which was first mentioned in the 13th century, so special. St. Mary's Church, one of the largest churches in the Margraviate of Brandenburg, the "Oldest House" or the castle, residential and commercial buildings, some of which date back to the 17th century and have been lovingly restored, can be admired in the town center.
A castle scribe still lives at Beeskow Castle.
At that time it belonged to the Lords of Strehle, the owners of the Beeskow-Storkow domain, and formed a dense network of moated castles together with the other structures in the region.
Beeskow Castle is now a cultural and educational centre and hosts a wide range of exhibitions and events. Beeskow Castle also has something to offer in terms of cuisine: cucina verde looks forward to delighting its guests with regional and local dishes.
