Neutrebbin is the largest settlement in the Oderbruch. There was a real competition between Neutrebbin and Letschin for the monument to Frederick II.
To mark the 200th anniversary of the Kingdom of Prussia, a bronze statue was erected in honor of Frederick II (1712-1786). In the 18th century, Old Fritz began to drain the former swampland and create fertile farmland. Two other statues stand in Letschin and Neuhardenberg.
