The Old Port of Wriezen tells of the lively craft and trade activities. Goods were shipped from here to Silesia, Pomerania, Poland and all of Prussia.
Before it was drained in the middle of the 18th century, Wriezen was the undisputed capital of the Oderbruch. Goods were shipped from the port to Silesia and Pomerania, to Poland and all of Prussia. Fish and barge tolls flowed into the city's coffers.
Historic buildings at the former port, such as the lime kiln, the factory owner's villa, the harbor warehouse and the dairy, still point to this part of the city's history.
