Altes Amtshaus Steinhöfel

  • galleries & studios
Opposite the castle Steinhofel is the Old Office Building, which was built in 1790 by David Gilly. This building is the only one of the architect's works that has survived almost unchanged. David Gilly is one of Brandenburg's leading figures and is considered an innovator of building culture. The building is built in a pure classicist style and served as the administrative and official headquarters of the Steinhöfel estate until 1945. After its eventful history, it is now largely open to the public and is used by the owner Gabriela Behnke as a gallery with constantly changing exhibitions, an exchange library and ice cream parlor.
