One of the most beautiful nature park “views” is the view from the approx. 32 m Waltersberge inland dune onto Lake Storkow.
The Waltersberge inland dune is one of the largest inland dunes in Brandenburg and is located in the nature reserve of the same name.
A short hiking trail starts opposite the Storkow beach and winds its way through a small forest to the dune. Keep your eyes open on the hike - with a bit of luck you might spot rare bird species here, such as the cuckoo, black kite, great spotted woodpecker and woodlark.
Along the route, information boards explain what there is still to discover in these special dry habitats and how blue-winged grasshoppers, silver grass and the like are adapted to the harsh conditions on the dunes and dry grassland.
Looking through gnarled pines, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Storkow. The starting point of the hike is the car park on Reichenwalder Straße.
