fishing waters
The Brieskower See is a tributary of the Oder and is directly connected to the river. The lake has a total length of around 3 kilometers and runs like a tube from its mouth at Lossow to the municipality of Brieskow-Finkenheerd. The width of the 54-hectare body of water is between 150 and 250 meters. The depth varies with the water level of the Oder, but is on average around 1 to 3 meters. Thanks to the connection to the river, you can expect to find all the fish that live in the Oder. So everything from eels to pike-perch is possible. However: Fishing on the west bank of Lake Brieskow is prohibited from the north edge of the metal sheet pile wall to the level of the judge's tower - nature reserve!

The lushly overgrown eastern bank is difficult to reach in places and can only be reached by long walks. In many places (especially on the western bank) there is dead wood in the water, which is always an attraction for various species of fish. In the narrow southern corner there are also fields of weeds.

Predatory asp, pike and perch, wandering chub, ide and carp as well as eels and catfish creeping mysteriously along the bottom - you will find all of this in Lake Brieskow, which seems so pristine despite its close proximity to Brieskow-Finkenheerd. A real natural oasis just over 10 kilometers from Frankfurt/Oder.

The best way to explore Lake Brieskow is by fishing from a boat. Fishing boats can be rented directly from the fisherman on site. By the way: A special feature is the "steep wall" at the mouth of Lake Brieskow. This is one of the rare "cliffs" of the Oder, which, at up to 60 meters high, is not only a breeding ground for rare bird species, but also an impressive natural monument.
