Coschen - a bridge between two countries
If you want to explore our region by bike, you should not miss the Oder-Neisse cycle path. Firstly, because of the unique landscape and secondly, in Coschen you can reach neighboring Poland via a new bridge that has the melodious name "Neisse Wave".
Until 1945, there was a wooden bridge over the Neisse in Coschen, which burned down during the Second World War. It would take 2 years before a new bridge was built over the border river into neighboring Poland. In 69, the time had finally come and the bridge, named "Neisse Wave," was inaugurated. The bridge with its white arches can be seen from far away. Today it leads to Zytowan, a small village in Poland. From here, there are various ways to explore the country. On the left, you come to the headland of the Oder-Neisse estuary and to Lake Borak, which invites you to take a dip in the cool water in the warmer months. If you drive to the right in Zytowan, you go directly to Gubin and back to Germany over the bridge in Guben.
The Oder-Neisse cycle path and the Monk's Tour lead directly through Coschen. The town is easily accessible by train (stop) - hourly from and to Berlin and from and to Cottbus.
