The Burgsee near Falkenhagen is one of five medium-sized bodies of water that are lined up like a string of pearls in the Brandenburg region. Coming from the south, these are Gabelsee, Schmielensee, Schwarzer See, Burgsee and Mühlenteich. The municipality of Falkenhagen (Mark) is located on the southern shore of the Burgsee. In the narrowest part, only the width of a street separates the Burgsee on the southeastern shore from the neighboring Schwarzer See.

While the northern part of the lake is surrounded by forest, the south is easily accessible by car. This is also where most of the shore fishing spots are located. The Schlaubefisch eG also has its fishing farm here, where fishing licenses for many of the region's waters are available. Shore anglers are successful with a feeder basket and catch bream, silver bream, roach, rudd and the occasional tench. In the evenings, eels come to the shore and can be tricked with float and bottom fishing.
  • Fish species: eel, pike-perch, pike, catfish, gudgeon

With an area of 25 hectares, the Burgsee goes down to a depth of 30 metres. Good pike and perch lurk in the open water. Sometimes large pike stand right at the edge of the schools of perch and strike when they feel like it. And somewhere in the depths of the lake there are some catfish causing trouble that are not easy to get to. Anyone who takes on this challenge can expect a surprise catch.
