World War Monument Ensemble Kienitz

Historical monuments and sites
In the early hours of January 31, 1945, Red Army troops crossed the Oder and formed the first bridgehead in what is now Germany. A quarter of a year later, World War II was over. This event was used as an opportunity to set up a memorial in 1970. Since then, a Russian T-34 tank has stood in the middle of the town. The monument ensemble in Kienitz, which provides information on World War I events, also includes the World War I memorial (1914-1918), the memorial "To the Victims 1939-1945" and the memorial stele for the bridgehead on the Oder.
