Altwustrow village church

Churches
13 Altwustrow farming families once built the church without royal consent. The extraordinary interior of the church attracts numerous visitors to the former fishing village every year.

In 1789, Altwustrow farming families built their own church without royal consent. From the outside, the half-timbered building appears rather plain. Inside the church, you can admire the baroque-style pews and pulpit altar as well as a paper ceiling that is unique in northern Germany.

If the church is not in use, Klaus Schröder is the person to contact. He opens the doors and also offers guided tours.

A circular path leads to the neighboring village of Neulietzegöricke and, with a total of ten information boards, invites you to get to know the two cultural heritage villages in more detail.
