The small railway museum in the Buckow station building illustrates the history of the Buckow narrow-gauge railway, but also of other private and branch lines such as the Müncheberg narrow-gauge railway, the Oderbruch railway and the "Royal Prussian Eastern Railway" (now RB 26). There are also many small and large exhibits from the general railway system in Germany, from old to new.
In the open space of Buckow station, various vehicles from the period between 1920 and 1986 with diesel and electric traction can be viewed. In addition, there is an exhibition on railway power technology and signaling and safety systems on the railway in the old railway rectifier plant of the Buckower Kleinbahn.
The operation of the Buckower Kleinbahn with historic vehicles on weekends from April to October is inextricably linked to the railway museum. Coming from Berlin, you can change to the museum railway between Müncheberg station, which takes visitors, with friendly service, via Waldsieversdorf to Buckow. Children of all ages can look over the train driver's shoulder and for interested adults, the Buckower Kleinbahn offers an advanced training course to become an honorary train driver with a certificate. On May 16, 2020, we will be celebrating 90 years of electric train operation between Buckow and Müncheberg, formerly Dahmsdorf, with a station festival. Since February 2017, an electric railcar from a Swiss narrow-gauge railway dating from 1920 has also been in Buckow. This was preceded by a very successful fundraising campaign to save this vehicle from being scrapped and transported to Buckow. Since June 1, 2018, this vehicle has been registered for the Buckow Museum Railway and has been used for occasional special trips since then and can also be rented. sonderfahrten@buckower-kleinbahn.de
