Neurüdnitz-Siekierki European Bridge

Historical monuments and sites
The former railway bridge over the Oder was restored in a German-Polish joint project and has been used as a cross-border cycle and pedestrian path since June 2022.

From the 860-meter-long bridge with viewing platform, you have a wonderful view of the river area between the former train stations of Neurüdnitz and Siekierki (Poland). Cozy seating areas with information on the history of the structure and the flora and fauna of the Oder Valley invite you to linger.

Originally there were two bridges at this location: The first bridge was built in 1892 as a railway/road bridge and was converted to a pure road bridge in 1930. Today it has disappeared except for the bridge piers. The second bridge was put into operation in 1930 exclusively as a railway bridge and was partially destroyed in World War II. In 2 it was repaired but no longer used. It has now been restored for cyclists and pedestrians.
