The Eisenhüttenstadt Fire Department and Technology Museum is one of the most important collections of historical firefighting technology in Germany. As part of the Municipal Museum, it displays material evidence of firefighting from the 16th to the 20th century and documents the development of firefighting technology over several centuries.
Unique special museum in Brandenburg
Located in the old town of Fürstenberg, the fire brigade museum is the only one of its kind in Brandenburg. Since its opening in June 1992, the permanent exhibition has presented historical and modern equipment, including restored fire engines, helmets, uniforms and technology from the former GDR. A special highlight is a cart fire engine from 1750 - the oldest exhibit in the collection.
attractions and events
In addition to the extensive collection, a specially designed fountain is the museum's landmark and provides a refreshing atmosphere in the forecourt, especially in summer. Every year in May and October, the museum becomes the venue for Dixieland concerts.
tours and research
Guided tours are available by prior arrangement. Research and restoration play a central role in museum operations in order to preserve and further develop historical exhibits for future generations.
