The Great Glubigsee is part of the Glubigseen chain and gets its water from the lakes in front of it, such as Grubensee and Springsee. The area around the lakes is 88 percent forested. The bathing area at the Great Glubigsee is located at the southern end of the lake in a holiday park and has a jetty with the option to jump into the water.
The 66-Lakes hiking trail runs close to the bathing area in a north-south direction.
