In the local history room of Grünheide, visitors can find information about the history of the town in a permanent exhibition. Numerous topics such as fishing, shipping, soil and water, children's and youth facilities, fire departments, churches and school history are vividly presented in numerous exhibits.
The newly designed Degebrodt Room has been open since 2011. 25 paintings, personal items and writings by the painter Max Degebrodt (1885-1976) can be viewed here. Other well-known residents of the town are also honored in the local history room, for example the dramatist Georg Kaiser (1878-1945) and the namesake of the house, Robert Havemann (1919-1982) - scientist, resistance fighter and GDR critic.
