Local history room - Digital herb garden - Antiquarian bookshop: Behind the "Long House" a garden with three raised beds and various seating options offers a quiet place to relax. The digital herb garden provides information about medicinal and culinary herbs. In short podcasts, "Alfred's herbal knowledge" offers interesting facts and entertaining anecdotes about 40 different herbs. The episodes can be accessed on site via QR codes directly next to the plants, but are also available online.
An exhibition shows typical local tools for fishing and tobacco cultivation. The local history room is located in the "Long House". The former farm workers' house was first mentioned in 1727. Eight families used to live in the small apartments, but today the exhibition is fascinating, not least because of the wealth of information on the interesting history of the Cistercian monastery and the town. Local history tours with a visit to the impressive monastery ruins are available upon request.
In the antiquarian bookshop, numerous books, from classic literature to crime novels, light novels, children's and young adult books to a wide range of non-fiction books are available for donation.
