Here, 125 years of hydraulic engineering come together in an impressive way. The two locks with four different lock gates and a former saving basin, the Hotopp lifts and the machine house show you the development of this lock. In the listed lock keeper's house of the Kersdorf North Lock, you will find an exhibition and information on the history of the Oder-Spree Canal. Display boards, contemporary documents and a video make the information clear to visitors. Film footage shows the everyday life of the boatmen, hydraulic engineers and lock keepers on the canal in 1925.

Here you can learn about the varied history of the hydraulic engineering structures of this waterway, which is in part one of the oldest canals built in Brandenburg and still in use today. View the original model of this lock from 1904 on a scale of 1:20, on permanent loan from the German Museum of Technology Foundation in Berlin, and read the foundation stone document from Kaiser Wilhelm I. The Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration invites you to see and experience hydraulic engineering at this lock system.
