The Kalksee is located between Rüdersdorf and Woltersdorf. It takes its name from the occurrence of limestone, which is unusual for the region. The elongated lake is two kilometers long and ten meters deep in places. Berliners in particular discovered the lake's clean water at the beginning of the 20th century: a large outdoor swimming pool was established on the eastern shore of the lake.
At the northern end of the lake is the bathing area at Kalksee. Here, bathers can enjoy a simple, large lawn with large, shady trees. The bathing area is located between the Woltersdorf lock and the museum park in Rüdersdorf - ideal for a cooling stopover when visiting the sights.
