The impressive town church, located directly on the market square, was built in the middle of the 15th century as a Gothic brick building. Before that, there was probably a simple wooden chapel on this site. The church consists of a main nave and a southern side aisle. The interior of the church was extensively renovated between 1912 and 1913.
The interior features an impressive star vault, and the high windows let a lot of light into the choir. The pulpit and the high altar with the Last Supper painting date from 1622. The baptismal font from the second half of the 13th century is probably part of the original furnishings of the previous church.
Two pictures of the child Caspar von Uchtenhagen deserve special attention. In one picture, the boy is holding a pear in his hand - a reference to poisoning, to which the child later succumbed. The von Uchtenhagen family had a significant influence on the history of the town of Bad Freienwalde. The interior of the organ was completely replaced by the Sauer company in 1976, and the organ facade was created by Joachim Wagner in 1728.
