At the site of today's St. Georgenkirche A wooden chapel previously stood there. The chapel was demolished in 1692 because it was in a state of disrepair. In 1696, St. George's Church was built on the demolition site as a half-timbered building and a typical 17th century preaching church. In 1986, after extensive renovation work, St. George's Church was reopened as concert hall inaugurated; 1988 consecration of the organ, built by the famous organ building company Sauer. Today it serves as a venue for concerts and exhibitions.

The Oberbarnimer Kulturverein eV offers chamber and organ concerts, song and chanson evenings as well as operetta and musical events in the St. Georg concert hall. There are also cabarets, foyer talks, readings and exhibitions. The concert hall, a half-timbered building with a tower built in 1698, can be visited every day except Fridays.
