The Beeskow Music Museum shows you a cross-section of the development of self-playing musical instruments. The heyday of these instruments was from the late 19th century to around 1930, before they were pushed back by modern consumer electronics. Until then, they shaped part of the musical atmosphere in homes, on the streets, in cafes and dance halls. The permanent exhibition presents a variety of impressive mechanical instruments such as reproduction pianos that reproduce the hand playing of famous pianists recorded on paper rolls, as well as little surprises in photo albums and toilet rolls.
During a guided tour, visitors of all ages can experience the technology used to record, save and play music 100 years ago. You will be guided through the collection. See how instruments are played as if by magic and let yourself be carried away by the cheerful music of earlier years! We have no barriers! Children are especially welcome here and can even play an instrument themselves or operate the barrel organ.
