The small and quiet forest lake is one of several gully lakes around the settlement in Blumenthal. The natural bathing area at Blumenthalsee has a sandy beach between the reed fields and places to lie down.
Access is via the Blumenthal settlement area, northeast of the town on the B168 between Prötzel and Tiefensee. Parking is available along the settlement area. The forest area "Der Blumenthal" is also mentioned by Fontane.
