The tallest building in the state of Brandenburg, at 88,95 meters, is the Oderturm in Frankfurt (Oder). It is visible from afar and has become the city's modern landmark. The 24-story building was built as an office building between 1968 and 1976. After reconstruction and renovation, the tower was reopened in 1996 with a shopping center on the lower floors. Around 40 shops, lots of restaurants and cafes, offices, doctor's offices, etc. provide jobs for 1.300 employees. In Andreas Dresen's film "Halbe Treppe" the Oderturm is the location of a radio studio. In fact, there are rbb studios in the lower part of the tower.
