The castle is the center of the Altranft Museum. Here you will find the information point for the museum area, exhibitions, museum café and museum shop. Built in 1600 and rebuilt many times, it now shows interesting exhibitions about life in the region at the end of the 19th century.
The museum aims to show the past and present of life in the Oderbruch and to deal with the current challenges of rural life in annual themes. The castle complex is complemented by the pretty church built in the 18th century on the village green, a historic fire station, a farm, a smithy and a so-called fisherman's house. Museum educational offers can be arranged for children or school classes.
Note: Visitor groups and school classes outside of regular opening hours please register by telephone.
