At the Altlandsberg Castle Estate there is a restaurant, a brewery and distillery, the Altlandsberg town information center and a castle church.
The brewery and distillery was built in 1685 by Imperial Baron Otto von Schwerin. The historic cellar vault houses a restaurant with a terrace. At that time, the brewery was also used as a distillery, warehouse, office building with court and prison rooms, and living space for the brewer. The dome hall, ballroom, and conference room in the brewery can be booked for various events.
On November 7, 2016, construction workers found a buried medieval coin hoard in front of the brewery and distillery while removing layers of peat sand at a depth of about 1 meter. In a late medieval arched vessel were silver and gold coins, consisting of 11 gold coins, 13 Prague and Meissen silver groschen and 7.426 silver hollow pennies. The find will soon be on display in the State Archaeological Museum in Brandenburg an der Havel.
The Altlandsberg town information centre, which is located in the Altlandsberg castle estate, provides information about the region. Those interested can obtain brochures and maps there. From the castle estate, you can go on lovely hikes and bike tours in the surrounding area.
