The "Simon's Gardens at the Schweizerhaus Seelow" are a place steeped in history. The property was first mentioned in the land register in 1838. The first owners were the Schulz and Weinandt families. In May 1919, the Berlin banker Hugo Simon bought the restaurant and fine fruit and other plants were grown there. A replica of Goethe's Weimar garden house was also built as a manager's house, an orangery, residential buildings and a bee house. By the 1930s, a model farm was built that was unique in Brandenburg. In addition to agricultural use and animal husbandry, a lot of time was invested in the further development of fruit growing. A local history society founded in 2007 is reviving the area. Some buildings have already been partially renovated. The local history society is also rebuilding the public park with sculptures, fountains and flowerbeds.
