The picturesque Schwielochsee is located on the north-eastern edge of the Spreewald. With a total area of well over 1.000 hectares, it is the largest natural lake in Brandenburg and also has excellent water quality. In the northern part, the river Spree flows through the Schwielochsee from the west. It is also directly connected to the Glower See and the Leißnitzsee above it. Quite a lot of water - perfect for those who like to swim. There is a good bathing area in Niewisch, for example, with a sandy beach, snack bar and campsite.
