In the years 1370 to 1380 the construction of the today known Beeskow St. Mary's ChurchParts of the church were destroyed several times by lightning strikes or city fires. However, the church suffered the greatest destruction as a result of the Second World War.
In 1976, conservation work began to preserve the basic structure of the former five-aisled Gothic brick hall church.
In 1991, the west façade was repaired and the reconstruction of the building began. When the Gothic church, which was visible far into the country, got its spire back in 2002, the imposing St. Mary's Church had its original appearance again.
The maximum length of the church is approximately 60 metres, its width almost 34 metres and the height of the west tower up to the top of the battlements is over 47 metres.
