Eisenhüttenstadt is an industrial planned city that was the first socialist city to be built completely on the drawing board in 1950. In no other city can you experience all eras of the architectural and urban development history of the former GDR. Eisenhüttenstadt is an outstanding example of a new city founded in the style of the national building tradition of the 50s, which has been protected as a monument. Eisenhüttenstadt is, so to speak, a nostalgic journey back in time to GDR history.
The various city tours through the unique planned city of Einsenhüttenstadt are very popular and can be booked all year round. Our experienced city guides lead interested visitors and tourists through the three listed residential complexes and provide detailed insights into the special history, architecture and development of the city.
