The Storkower See is located in the Saarower hills; the meltwater from the last ice age formed the lake's elongated basin. At the southern tip there is a connection to the Scharmützelsee; the canal was built in the middle of the 18th century.
The bathing area in Dahmsdorf is located directly on a well-developed cycle path along the eastern shore of Lake Storkow between Storkow and Wendisch Rietz. The bathing area is surrounded by forest. A wide sandy area leads directly into the shallow water of the lake, bordered by a narrow belt of reeds. There are a few places to sit and a lawn for sunbathing as well as a table tennis table. Parking is possible on a lawn next to the bathing area.
The water quality of the bathing area is regularly monitored by the district health department in accordance with the Brandenburg Bathing Water Ordinance and has excellent water quality.
