The Storkower See is located in the Saarower hills; the meltwater from the last ice age formed the lake's elongated basin. At the southern tip there is a connection to the Scharmützelsee; the canal was built in the middle of the 18th century.
The gently sloping terrain of the Wolfswinkel bathing area allows a wide view over the lake, the inviting and very wide sandy beach offers opportunities for playing and lying down. There is a separate playing field for beach volleyball fans. Numerous seating areas and a lawn provide space for many visitors to the picturesque bathing area. Above the area there is a snack bar and a toilet, and barbecuing is permitted. Dogs must be kept on a leash, and bathing dogs is prohibited.
The water quality of the bathing area is regularly monitored by the district health department in accordance with the Brandenburg Bathing Water Ordinance and has excellent water quality.
