Storkow City Church

Churches
The church that originally stood on this site was built by Cistercian monks in the Romanesque style at the end of the 12th century. After it was destroyed by fire in 1570, it was rebuilt as a brick church in the Gothic pointed arch style, while the fieldstone base of the original church was preserved.
In 1864, during a comprehensive restoration, the church was given a stepped gable, which can still be seen on old postcards. However, the stepped gable was not restored during the reconstruction after the Second World War. The tower has also been shortened since then.
The church is open from June to September on Saturdays and Sundays from 14 p.m. to 17 p.m. For visits outside of these times, registration is required at the parish office, Altstadt 25-26, Tel. 033678-72812.
